The Queens Factory is now a family-friendly workplace for more than 100 villagers who are mostly young women and middle-aged housewives.
Located in rural Lam Dong Highland, we erected our first factory in 2009. We chose the name “Queens Factory” because we felt it reflected our key value, and suited our approach to focus on supporting women in Lam Ha Village. The Queens Factory is now a family-friendly workplace for more than 100 villagers who are mostly young women and middle-aged housewives.
With a gradual improvement year by year, we have helped to strengthen women ability to do the work of improving their community for themselves – and in doing so, to find new confidence and purpose in life. When the women are able to earn some independent income, it raises their status in the family and can help them to provide education for their children who often get left out of the education system.
Local authorities in Lam Ha Village are taking note of what is working. We believe that this is what true leadership development and community building looks like. It was truly encouraging to see!
